Super Kanthal Heating Elements Manufacturer

High-power electric molybdenum disilicide (MoSi2) heating elements for element temperatures up to 1850°C (3360°F). Super Kanthal MoSi2 heating elements are available as straight or bent elements in a wide range of shapes and sizes.

Silcarb has been in the field of Manufacturing Silicon Carbide Heating Elements for the past three decades, with its plant located at BANGALORE, South India. The new MOSIL range of mosi2 heaters that Silcarb manufactures is equivalent to Super Kanthal and can directly replace the latter.
Silcarb, having established itself as a quality supplier of Silicon Carbide Heating Elements have now introduced its state-of-the-art technology Furnaces for various applications

PROPERTIES

INTRODUCTION

KANTHAL SUPER is a unique material combining the best properties of metallic and ceramic materials. Like metallic materials it has good heat and electric conductivity and like ceramics it withstands corrosion and oxidation and has a low thermal expansion. It is not affected by thermal shock and is strong enough to withstand many years of service as a heating element.
RESISTIVITY
The resistivity of KANTHAL SUPER increases sharply with temperature. This means that when the elements are connected to a constant voltage, the power will be higher at lower temperatures and will be gradually reduced with increasing temperature, thus shortening the time for the furnace to reach operating temperature. Furthermore, as the power of the elements decreases, the danger of overheating will reduced. The resistance of KANTHAL SUPER elements does not change due to ageing even after having been in operation for a long time at high temperatures. There is only a slight reduction (= 5%) during the first period of time. Due to the non-ageing properties a failed element can easily be replaced without the performance of other elements connected in series being influenced.
